WHAT EACH INGREDIENT MEANS

Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate

An olive-based emollient that helps the serum
to be evenly distributed through the hair. It contributes to a smoother, softer and more
silky feel without being a conventional silicone.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride

A light emollient triglyceride that also
serves as a carrier for other ingredients. It improves the serum's spreadability
and contributes to a smooth feel without the formula feeling heavy.

Parfum

The composite perfume that gives the product
its scent. The fragrance components that need to be declared separately are listed further down in
the INCI list for full transparency.

Polysorbate 80

A solubilizing and emulsifying ingredient
that helps oils, perfume and other components to be kept evenly distributed in
the formula.

Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables

The unsaponifiable part of olive oil in
stabilized form. The ingredient is used to soften and condition
the hair's surface and contributes to a smoother and more pliable finish.

Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil*

The official INCI name for macadamia oil.
The documented raw material is organic and cold-pressed. The oil has a softening
and hair-conditioning effect and contributes to a smoother and more pliable
feel.

Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil*

The official INCI name for jojoba oil. The
documented raw material is organic and cold-pressed. Jojoba oil is rich in
natural wax esters and helps hair feel softer, more pliable and more
lustrous.

Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil*

The official INCI name for argan oil. The
documented raw material is organic, cold-pressed and deodorized. Argan oil is
used to condition the hair and give dry lengths a softer and more
well-groomed feel.

Ceramide NP

A ceramide-like hair-conditioning lipid.
It is used to support a smoother and more well-groomed feel on the hair's surface
and can help dry lengths feel less rough.

Sodium Hyaluronate

The sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. A moisture-binding
ingredient that helps to support a softer, more pliable and more moisturized
feel in the hair.

Tocopherol**

The official INCI name for vitamin E. It
acts as an antioxidant and helps protect the formula's oils against
oxidation. The documented raw material contains tocopherols extracted from
non-GMO soybeans and sunflower oil as a carrier.

Retinyl Palmitate

A stable ester form of vitamin A. It is included

Carthamus Tinctorius Seed Oil

The official INCI name for safflower oil.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract

The official INCI name for aloe

Panthenol

Provitamin B5. A hair-conditioning and
antistatic ingredient that helps hair feel softer, smoother and more
pliable.

Trifolium Pratense/Vigna Radiata Sprout Extract†

A botanical extract from sprouts of
red clover and mung bean. It is the plant-based part of the raw material Akosky™ Azuki
and is used as a nourishing cosmetic ingredient.

Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil

The official INCI name for sunflower oil. It
acts as a light emollient oil and is also used as a carrier in
the vitamin E raw material.

Glycerin

A moisture-binding ingredient, also called
a humectant. It helps to bind moisture and contributes to the hair feeling
softer and less dry.

Lactic Acid

Lactic acid. In this type of formula, it is used
in small quantities to help adjust and stabilize the pH value. Its
function here is technical and stabilizing.

Cetearyl Alcohol

A softening fatty alcohol that improves
the formula's texture, stability and glide. It is not the same type of alcohol as
ethanol and is not associated with the drying feeling that the word alcohol can sometimes
imply.

Ethylhexyl Palmitate

A light emollient ester that helps the serum
to spread evenly through the hair and contributes to a smooth and less greasy feel.

Potassium Sorbate

Potassium sorbate. A preservative that
helps to protect botanical raw materials against yeast and mold growth and
preserve their quality during storage.

Sodium Benzoate

Sodium benzoate. A preservative that
helps to protect botanical raw materials against microbial growth and maintain
the quality of the formula.

Citral

A declared fragrance component with a fresh citrus
and lemon character.

Linalool

A declared fragrance component with soft,
floral and slightly herbaceous notes.

Limonene

A declared fragrance component with a fresh
citrus character. It also occurs naturally in citrus fruit peels, among other things.

Beta-Caryophyllene

A declared fragrance component with spicy,
woody and slightly peppery nuances. It also occurs naturally in several plants
and essential oils.

Hexamethylindanopyran

A fragrance substance with a soft, clean and musky
character. The technical name describes the structure of the fragrance molecule; its function
in the product is to contribute to the character of the perfume.

Linalyl Acetate

A declared fragrance component with floral,
fresh and slightly herbaceous nuances.

Tetramethyl Acetyloctahydronaphthalenes

A fragrance component that contributes warm, woody
and slightly amber-like notes. The long name describes the chemical structure of the substance.

Citrus Limon Peel Oil

The official INCI name for lemon oil from
lemon peel. It contributes a fresh citrus-like scent.

Pinene

A declared fragrance component with fresh, green,
pine-like and woody notes. It also occurs naturally in many plants and
essential oils.

Geranyl Acetate

A declared fragrance component with soft,
floral and fruity nuances.

Isoeugenyl Acetate

A declared fragrance component with warm,
floral, spicy and slightly clove-like nuances.

WHY DOES THE LIST CONTAIN SO MANY TECHNICAL
NAMES?

INCI is the international and
standardized ingredient language of cosmetics. Therefore, well-known ingredients are written with their
official botanical or scientific names. Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil is
argan oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil is jojoba oil, Carthamus Tinctorius
Seed Oil is safflower oil, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil is sunflower oil, Tocopherol
is vitamin E and Panthenol is provitamin B5.

A long or technical name does not automatically mean
that an ingredient is strong, drying or unsuitable. Some
raw materials also consist of several components, and all of them need to be listed
separately in the INCI list. The longest names towards the end of the list are mainly
declared fragrance components.

MOISTURE – A THOUGHTFULLY FORMULATED PRODUCT

Moisture combines organic, cold-pressed
argan, jojoba and macadamia oils with hyaluronic acid, Ceramide NP, aloe vera,
provitamin B5 and vitamins A and E. The formula is developed for dry and
dehydrated hair and helps lengths feel softer, more pliable and more
well-groomed.
